The manager of my LYS asked me if I'd be interested in teaching a crochet class. I am both flattered and freaked out by the idea. Getting paid to teach people to hook . . . what's not to love!
But what if I am a lousy teacher? These people are paying me to learn how to crochet. I'm not just wasting their time if I suck. I'm wasting their money, too.
Classes don't start until December. That should give me plenty of time to get over myself and plan some lessons.

Anyone who worries about all of the things you've just mentioned??? Is automatically a pretty darn good teacher, because you CARE.
Also, you are a damn fine hooker.
Thanks, Wendy. You are the best. I'm feeling a little calmer today after looking through The Happy Hooker and filling it with post-it notes. :D
When everyone gets going, you'll be so busy you wont have time to worry how good or bad you are. Once the first few mins is over, you'll fly it. (My first ever crochet class, was in a local school with 26 10-11yr old girls, and the school had forgotten to buy the hooks, now that was a disaster...)
26 hookless little students... That would be a disaster! At least this class will be adults in a yarn shop where they can buy anything they forgot to bring.
Thanks for the encouragement, Lily.
